02How to approach the CB600F Hornet
The CB600F Hornet offers front rebound and rear rebound plus preload — a partial set, so some fixes have to come from somewhere other than a clicker.
- Use the damping you do have for its primary job, and don't try to make it compensate for the circuit that's missing.
- With limited damping adjustment, tyre pressure and sag carry proportionally more of the setup. Get both exact before you touch anything else.
- If you keep running out of adjustment in one direction, that's a spring rate or oil condition signal — not a reason to wind the clicker to its stop.
03Where to start — the baseline
Whatever the CB600F Hornet offers, the order of operations is always the same. Start from the OEM clicker baseline (count every adjuster from fully closed), set tyre pressures, then set sag before you touch a single damping clicker.
- Tyre pressure first.It moves the chassis more than any clicker. Start from a known cold target — see the track day tyre pressure guide.

04What you can't tune on the CB600F Hornet

- No front compression adjuster — control dive with preload, fork height and spring rate.
- No rear compression adjuster — manage squat under drive with ride height and preload.
- Single-speed damping circuits — one adjuster covers both rider inputs and sharp bumps, so expect to compromise between the two.
05Match the symptom to the adjuster
